![]() Realistically, animals at zoo's and parks are all living in habitats smaller than nature intended. As my daughter pointed out, the parking lots are larger than the homes provided for the killer whales. Discovery Cove and Seaworld are actually sister parks! I agree some shows, breeding & other circumstances including the homes seem small and unfair to these wonderful creatures. I do have a comment on Seaworld always getting a bad rap. For dolphin protection you will also be asked to remove things like jewelry during your experience. So, if you decide to swim with dolphins, you will attend a brief orientation and watch a video instructing you on keeping the animals, the environment and our oceans safe. Keep in mind, not all of the activities are inclusive in the admission price. When swimming with stingrays and aquatic life, there were DC personnel on duty at all times to continually remind guests to be cautious so as to not hurt the animals. From our experience, it appears that the animals at Discovery Cove are cared for and the resort is a great interactive learning experience for all ages. Other reviewers have summed up your question adequately. I’m visiting Orlando in 2 months & our entire party of 12 has made the conscious descision to avoid at all costs. Please think for yourself, follow your instincts & don’t believe what the people who’re making money from it, tell you. Of course DC & SW are going to say the animals love it, they’re making a vast amount of profit from it! ![]() Hilton Grand Holidays Hotels in Orlandoĭid those dolphins & other sea creatures at Sea Wirld, Discovery Cove etc ask to be kept in cramped conditions, often alone for decades in the case of orcas, ripped apart from their pods, taken away from everything that makes a wild animal’s life worth living, given a tiny amount of space compared to what they’d have in nature, driven mad by confinement, & made to perform for humans, or do you think they’d rather be free doing what nature intended them to do, alongside their family groups, free to carry out their natural instincts in a space appropriate for a sea creature?Įven if they’re kept in the best conditions possible (doubtful) how fair is it to treat wild animals as toys for our entertainment?.
